Since its creation by Royal Charter in 1954, gifts and legacies from Fellows and friends have helped the Academy to maintain a degree of financial independence. Many of our core activities such as scientific meetings, expert independent advice to support policy development, science education, public awareness and outreach, and awards and fellowships would not be possible without this long-term support. It is critical to achieving our strategic objectives.

The Academy's much-loved science outreach website Nova: science for curious minds has been reimagined. The new Nova will be celebrated with an official launch event during National Science Week in August.

Are you keen to build your skills and experience with the media? Perhaps you work in an area of research that impacts the public and you see outreach as a part of your role. Or you may be aware that good communication skills are highly valued by many organisations and want to build your profile and showcase your abilities? Sound like you?
