Opportunities for Australia—A conversation with ERC President Prof Bourguignon

The Australian Academy of Science is pleased to host a presentation by Professor Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, President of the European Research Council (ERC), about ERC funding opportunities available to Australian researchers, followed by a Q&A session.

Location: Australian Academy of Science, Shine Dome, 9 Gordon Street, Canberra

Date: Monday, 24 September 2018

Time: 9:30am—10am coffee followed by the presentation 10.00am—11.00 am

This event will provide an opportunity to hear about how ERC funding supports individual researchers to pursue their curiosity driven research in all areas of science including social sciences and humanities. The ERC calls for 2019 are now open.

Since its creation in 2007, the ERC has awarded more than 8500 research grants using scientific excellence as the sole criterion for selection. The ERC grants are flexible, are open to scientists of any nationality and provide substantial long term funding. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
