CANCELLED: APRIM2020: 2020 Asia-Pacific Regional IAU Meeting

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) is a non-governmental and not-for-profit global organisation dedicated to the promotion of international cooperation in astronomy.  Its activities include outreach and education as well as capacity building in developing countries. Founded in 1919, the IAU celebrated its centenary in 2019 and has grown into a substantial international organisation; the IAU currently has over 13,000 active individual members and 82 National Members, including Australia.

In addition to triennial General Assemblies, the IAU also arranges a range of general and special interest astronomy scientific meetings. The Asia-Pacific Regional IAU Meeting (APRIM) is a unique opportunity to present the latest astronomical and space research to a broad but regionally focused audience, as well as make new connections and initiate new collaborations. The meeting is expected to attract around 600 delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Academy’s National Committee for Astronomy (NCA) serves as the primary conduit between the Australian astronomical community and the IAU.
