The Australian Academy of Science is pleased to invite you to our Research Roadmap for Blood Cancers webinar series. The webinar series forms part of our consultation contributing to the development of a Research Roadmap for Blood Cancers.

Webinar 1—Current blood cancer research landscape

Aims to elicit a comprehensive overview of the existing landscape for blood cancer research and care in Australia.

Date: Tuesday 21 November 2023
Time:  3.00pm – 4.30pm AEDT

Webinar 1 objective: The primary objective of this webinar is to gather insights from experts and relevant stakeholders, about the current blood cancer research landscape in Australia. Specifically, we want to explore current strategies being used to accelerate blood cancer research in Australia, highlight effective practices, and identify facilitators and barriers to acceleration.

Webinar 2—Technological advancement and impacts on blood cancer research

Insights into research and technological advances propelling blood cancer research in Australia.

Date: Wednesday 22 November 2023
Time: 3.00pm – 4.30pm AEDT

Webinar 2 objective: The focus of the second webinar is to gain insights from experts and stakeholders regarding the impacts of technological advancements on blood cancer research. Specifically, we aim to explore the cutting-edge research on the horizon that can be realised through technologies—particularly with innovations like artificial intelligence—and explore the potential for Australia to demonstrate its sovereignty in this research sphere.

Webinar 3—The way forward

Actionable approaches to advancing research in priority areas and encouraging clinical translation of new innovations in a measurable and scalable way.

Date: Thursday 23 November 2023
Time: 3.00pm – 4.30pm AEDT

Webinar 3 objective: Our third webinar focuses on gaining insights from experts and stakeholders to chart a way forward for the development and implementation of impactful strategies in blood cancer research. Specifically, we aim to explore how particular research strategies and practices can be effectively integrated in a measurable and scalable manner. Additionally, we want to identify resources and initiatives that will facilitate the effective translation of this research to improve patient care.
