Nova keeps growing

The Academy’s science outreach website, Nova: science for curious minds, continues to grow in both visits and content since its relaunch on 30 June. New topics since September include:

Upcoming topics include forensics, bionics and bushfire.

The website has received more than 82,000 visits since it went live on 30 June. Nova's latest video explaining quantum computing, produced by German animator Kurzgesagt, has been incredibly popular with more than a million views in its first six days.

The Nova team appreciates the fast and helpful responses of Fellows when asked to review topics. Twenty-four Fellows are already featured as reviewers. This is a major point of difference to other science websites.

The Nova website, designed by Melbourne company Webplace, is beautiful to look at—so beautiful that it was recently shortlisted in the Digital Design category of the Australian Graphic Design Association Awards. Although it didn’t win an award, congratulations are due to Webplace for being recognised in such a highly competitive environment.
